Sunroom FAQs

Essentially, sunrooms and patio enclosures are the same thing – a rigid walled room with a ceiling or roof, lots of windows or glass doors in the walls, and possibly skylights in the ceiling.

Technically speaking, the distinction depends on the starting point. A patio enclosure is built on an existing patio while a true sunroom is built fully “from the ground up.”

Retractable Screen & Shade FAQs

Retractable window screens are screens that can be easily pulled down to cover windows or other openings and retracted when not in use. They provide insect protection, privacy, and ventilation.

When retracted, they do not block any light as fixed screens would, so they are ideal for controlling sunlight on bright, sunny days while allowing maximum light in on cloudier days or during morning/evening hours.

Retractable screens typically use a roller mechanism with a spring or motor to extend and retract the screen mesh. They are installed on the interior or exterior of windows or doors.

Motorized retractable screens are pushbutton operated and may be connected to home automation systems.

Yes, retractable screens can be installed on most types of windows and doors, including casement windows, sliding glass doors, French doors, and more.

We can make screens from 3’ to 25’ wide with a maximum height over 17’.

Screen Room FAQs

A screen room is a patio cover with screens in all the outside wall openings. It creates an outdoor living space with all the benefits of being outside while providing protection from bugs and the elements. Unlike a traditional porch or patio, it has mesh screens that keep insects out while allowing fresh air in.

Screen rooms enhance your home by offering a bug-free, comfortable space for relaxation and entertainment. They also increase the resale value of your property and extend the times you can enjoy your outdoor space when it’s raining lightly or bugs are prevalent.

While screen rooms are primarily designed for warm-weather enjoyment, you can extend their use into cooler months by adding heating elements.

For true 4-season living, consider a sunroom with climate control capability.
